T-Mobile

Rage Against the ISP Activation Event, 2022

While working at Porter Novelli, I was brought into the team to collaborate on an activation event for T-Mobile that would be held in Santa Monica, CA. The concept was to build out a whack-a-mole arcade game, but instead of moles they'd be reasons to dislike your internet service provider. Reasons like price hikes, unexpected fees, installation problems, contracts, and more showcased as emojis. T-Mobile became an internet service provider and wanted to market their transparent model that's similar to their phone plans, and that that offer more than cellular service.

Beyond the whack-a-mole concept, they also wanted to include a rage room where patrons could smash old computer equipment with a sledge hammer, further telling their story of smashing your old concepts of an internet service provider. They would rent a truck and outfit for the activation event and would be parked alongside the arcade games on the Santa Monica Pier. Users would wear branded jumpsuits and enter a box truck, and be able to use branded sledge-hammers to smash the old computer equipment.

I was tasked with designing the truck with the branded assets and colors. I created mock-ups of what it could look like outfitted as a rage room. I provided the first option, but they wanted less focus on the emojis and had created their own iconography for the truck, so I incorporated those into the final design (version 2).
